    2005 P & D Mint and S Proof Quarter Sets This awesome collectors set not only comes with the Philadelphia and Denver Mint Editions, but also includes the San Francisco Clad Proof Edition. Each edition contains a California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas and West Virginia Mint State P&D and S Proof Quarter with COA's. The United States Mint 50 State Quarters Program begun in 1999 produced a series of 50 quarter dollar coins with special designs honoring each state. Five different designs were issued each year from 1999-2008. States were commemorated in the order of their entrance into statehood. The obverse depicts President George Washington that was modified to include some of the wording previously used on the reverse. The reverse depicted a state theme proposed and approved by the governor of that state
