The bell keys are located one each side, and has the low E side vent key on the body.
This is an Eb alto low pitch and has the #18812 located on the back ( slightly visible but it is there)---
HOLTON mfg. 1912 by the serial dating lists
.
This fine instrument is exceptional in that it has the extra upper trill Eb-/-G# trill also.
The bell is inscribed: Frank Holton & Co. ( in script ), Elkhorn, Wis., and is surrounded with flowered
patterns.
The case is an old style,(not original to the instrument) wood structure with worn leather trim. It is strong and
with 2 handles and the latches work but one spring is not functioning.
The instrument has been repadded, corked, and relacquered, and done in Elkhart Ind. , probably in 1999.
