    Description

Antique Humphrey Super-Burner manufactured General Gas Light Co Kalamazoo, Mich. Condition is "Used".
Other then the description on the two pieces of what remains of the original box, I can tell you little more about the lab item. The Humphrey patents are dated Nov. 6, 1917 and Nov. 8, 1917. I have searched the internet, antique sites and eBay attempting to find it or ANYTHING LIKE IT with no success. The item shows some signs of some use at sometime in the distant past, but as you can see from the pictures it must have been very little. I am guessing that it is made of iron and has a hard gloss black coating on top of that. There are minor chips in that black coating. The item appears in pristine condition for it's age. There appear to be two separate raised markings of identification. One appears to be a number on one of the three legs and looks to me to be either "ID2" or "1D2".   Two other raised markings, identical to one another, appear on the underside of the channel that mounts above the flame and the other near the bottom of the base unit. This burner was my grandfather's and eventually ended up in my dad's, then my possession. There is little more I can tell you about it other then what you can see in the pictures or read off of the remains of the box. If I can answer any questions you may have that I can obtain by looking more closely at any of the parts or additional SPECIFIC photos I might take, I will attempt to do that upon request.
    Thank you for looking.
