    Description

Up for auction is a stunning antique dark blue transferware luncheon plate manufactured in Staffordshire, England during the early 1800s.  The plate features a view of the Dartmouth in Boston Harbor with various ships and town buildings shown in the scene.  The back of the plate is impressed with the Wood & Sons trademark, and overall the plate measures approximately 9" in diameter.
The overall condition of the plate is excellent.  It is extremely clean and has no chips, cracks, or repairs with the exception of a tiny glaze fleck to the edge.  The white earthenware has mild toning and the blue color is deep with nice contrast. The glaze is glossy with fine consistent crazing and there are standard scratches on the surface.  The plate displays extremely well and would be a nice addition to any collection or home!
