    Description

Industry Does Not Wish, a Franklin Maxim or Proverb, black transfer Staffordshire teapot, circa 1830.  Highly detailed, same scene on either side.  Two industrious lads planting and rolling a lawn near a lake.  Both dressed in period style, one is white and one is black.  The lid for the pot has a glued finial, one chip on the top side, a smaller chip on the underside.  Interior pot is very clean.  Two spider's by the handle, one above and a small one below.  They do not go through to the interior.  Spout has a small chip and rusty colored something?? it maybe an old repair.  You can magnify the images to clearly see these flaws.  All in all, it has a great appearance.  Not too easy to find, I would imagine.  Measures:  7 1/2" tall with lid in place, 11" wide spout to handle.  Glaze still very shiny.  If you have questions, please ask.  Sold as seen.  Will be send priority insured.
