    Ashworth Brothers L S & S Chinese Pattern Transferware Deep Plate C. 1862 - 1883
    Transferware deep plate in the Chinese pattern with hand colored highlights. Has an impressed crown over Ashworths mark on the back. This mark was used by Ashworth Brothers between 1862 and 1883. Also has a printed mark that reads Chinese Pattern L. S. & S. I have not been able to find out who L. S. & S. is, but it could possibly refer to
    Lazarus Straus & Sons
    who had offices and factories in Germany, London, and New York.
    Has knife marks and usage wear to the center consistent with age, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
    Measures approximately 9 1/8 inches wide x 1 1/2 inches tall.
    This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
