ABOUT THE ITEM꞉
This educational toy is a large, round, reversible number and letter board. The outer rim is painted yellow with a red center. There are no illustrations on the board. Four metal "bridges" (i.e. supports) on each side provide stability and are original to the board.  Using one's fingers, letters (on the front) and numbers (on the reverse) are slid around in grooves to form words or equations.  This spelling and counting board was manufactured by the Brio ABC Company of Sweden.
CONDITION꞉
Used but in good condition.  The board does display some signs of prior use:  Some scuffs, small amounts of paint missing, scratches, light soiling, etc.  Please refer to the listing's photographs regarding any conditional issues.
ABOUT THE BRIO COMPANY꞉
Brio was founded in 1884 by Ivar and Sissa Persdotter. They started out as only selling woodchip baskets, but by 1907, they were producing 170 different products, including the company’s first toy called the Osby Horse. In 1908 the company ownership was transferred to Ivar and Sissa’s three sons Viktor, Aton, and Emil and the company officially became known as Brio  (Brio is an acronym for the Ivarsson brothers of Osby). Although the company is international in distribution, they still produce a wide variety of toys in Sweden. By 2000, they were the largest producer of wooden toys in the world. Brio also produces baby gear such as high chairs and carriages.
