Childs Transferware Cake PlateCINDERELLA

This is a rare child's transferware
cake tray
, circa 1890. Originally part of a child's complete tea set, the plate measures about 5-
3/4 inches
in diameter
with moulded handles.
The color is rich chocolate or sepia brown with wisps of polychrome enamel decoration in blue pink orange and yellow, and gilt along the rim .
The original set featured a sequence of scenes from the story of Cinderella.

plate shows the wedding celebration of Prince Charming and Cinderella embellished with hand painted red, blue and
spring
green colors. It is entitled,
Everybody Was Pleased When The Prince Married Cinderella
. The entire scene is highly detailed. The plate’s rim is decorated with an ivy leaf design, a gilt band. The platter has embossed ribbon handles.
The plate is marked with British Registration number 128955. Identical in style and quality to the wares made in Staffordshire, this set was made by T.G. Green, a pottery manufactory in the Derbyshire region of England who registered the Cinderella pattern in the year 1889.
This pattern was made for only four years and pieces rarely come up for sale in the polychrome version.
The plate is in great condition. There are no chips, cracks or restorations.
