1. Description:
Original sheet XLIIII (44) panorama view of Venice, woodcut, old colored, from the Latin edition of Schedel'sche Weltchronik, published on July 12, 1493. Edited by the famous Nuremberg humanist and historian Hartmann Schedel. Printed by Anton Koberger in Nuremberg. With more than 1800 woodcuts, the Schedel Chronik is an important testimony to German book printing art of the late Middle Ages. The woodcuts are made by Michael Wolgemut and Wilhelm Pleydenwurff.

2. Condition:
For a 520 year old, original woodcut view, this sheet is in good to very good overall condition! Lower edge of sheet waterstained; lower right edge with a small defect. Slightling browned according to age. The centerfold shows a few small, lost and restored parts, which result from the former book binding (see photo). Beautiful old colored and absolutely decorative!
