Stunning Antique Fern Lithographs!
Here are a pair of fern lithograph's from 1859.  These color plates come from Edward Lowes vol. IV of
Ferns: British and Exotic
- see pic for title plate info (not part of lot).  The plates are approximately 5" x 10" and depict: 1) Blechnum Occidentale (plate XXIX of vol IV).  , A fairly common evergreen stove fern, native to Mexico and Tropical America; and 2) Blechnum Orientale (plate XL of Vol IV).  It's a large evergreen stove fern native to India, Java and China.  Exquisite detail on these lovely prints.  They are from a first edition volume (IV) of an extensive, 8 volume set compiled by Lowe in the 1850's -60's, an impressive collection of works.  The book itself is not really in good enough condition to sell as a whole, but inquiries are welcome.  More listings to follow!
