Description

An early 19th century copper lustre pitcher decorated with images of the Marquis de Lafayette on one side and General Cornwallis resigning his sword at Yorktown, October 19, 1781 on the other.  These two transfer images are surrounded by handpainted copper decoration on a canary yellow background.
This is a large version of this pitcher, measuring 6" tall and 8"  across.
There is some wear and light discoloration to the surface (as shown in photos), and a small chip on the spout.  Otherwise, generally good condition.
