  • Condition: The condition is almost essentially the same as when it was made. There are no chips nor cracks except for a minor superficial chip on the corner of the lid. This appears to have been covered with white nail polish. There is no crazing.

    Description

    The item for sale is a pottery rectangular serving piece with a domed lid that was made in Stafforshire, England by J E Wileman in association with Foley Potteries during the opening decades of the twentieth century.  The pattern is name after Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria.  The design features brown transfer peony blossoms, stems and leaves.  There are handles on the lid and sides.  Some of the edges are slightly fluted.  The condition is almost essentially the same as when it was made.  There are no chips nor cracks except for a minor superficial chip on the corner of the lid.  This appears to have been covered with white nail polish.  There is no crazing.  The size including the handles is 10 3/4" x 6 1/2" x 5 1/2".
