The Spaniel Dogs, were a staple of the Victorian household and assimilate just as well in a present day. The origin or inspiration is thought to be the pet King Charles Spaniel "Dash", kept by Queen Victoria, as a child, who became her contest component when she became Queen.
The first comforters appeared at the beginning of the 1840's and continued in production into the 1900's.
I will be listing a large Collection of Staffordshire, many pieces deaccessioned from a Museum so please continue watching.
