One plate is 7 7/8” ~ One plate is 8”
A pair of unusual and very finely potted Davenport pearlware plates, each one very light weight and richly decorated in a design probably copied from Chinese porcelain.
The impressed lower case letters ‘Davenport’ and anchor on bottoms is listed as the earliest Davenport mark circa 1793 - 1810 on www.thepotteries.org/mark/d/davenport.html
The dragons and double greek key borders are printed in blue and the tiny red circles filling in the background are hand painted in enamel.

Both in excellent condition; the plate without a label has some pottery inclusions and scuffing on the bottom but both in beautiful condition.
