Description

These Staffordshire Spaniel dog figurines are a quality authentic pair. They have orange-brown snouts and eyes and their coats are a creamy white color and painted with gold spots on the front side of the figurines. The chains hanging off their collars are also painted gold. Overall the paint has minimal wear. There is some crazing on both dogs which is typical for their age, see photo. One of them has a hairline crack in the glaze at the ankles and some discoloration. The other Spaniel has a hairline crack in the glaze at the top of the head, see picture. These features do not detract but rather add to their antique appearance. There are no chips, ceramic cracks or repairs. This pair was likely made in the latter part of the 1800's. They are in beautiful shape and have great character and appeal.
This late 19th century Staffordshire Spaniel pair stands nearly 9 inches tall and weighs 2.1 pounds. They are from an estate of a collector of high quality items. If you have any questions or would like more pictures, please feel free to contact me.
