Description
Offered is a charming miniature child's tea bowl/handleless toy cup. This decorative little example was produced in the Staffordshire region of England during the 19th century, circa 1830/1840 and would have been part of a tea set. The cup is decorated in a blue and white chinoiserie pattern on both the exterior and interior and is finished in a pearlware glaze. Typically, it is unmarked. Great rare item for the collector.Dimensions: Diameter 2.5"; Height 1 5/8".
The cup is in good antique condition with no cracks or hairlines and will display beautifully. The rim has three very tiny pinpoint size spots that can be felt, but are hard to discern visually (please see photo #7). There is some glaze crazing that can mainly be seen on the exterior base. Also, there is some very light stain which is mainly confined to the exterior bottom portion and base.
Thanks and please let me know if you have questions.
