Description
This is an original Antique Double Farmer's sink. It was installed in the first floor apartment of a two family house at the time the house was built which was at the very beginning of the 20th Century around 1903-04. The sink has been in use since that time until it was removed last week. It is in excellent condition and is made of Cast iron and finished in white enamel. The sink comes with two support legs featured in the Photos, along with a white enameled metal cover for the sink on the right ( which is the deeper of the two ). The original wall mounting brackets are also included and these are almost impossible to come by. the photo of the bottom of the sink clearly shows the Maker as "Standard Sanitary Mfg. Co of Louisville Kentucky".The
Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company
was an American manufacturer of bathroom fixtures. It was formed in 1899 by the merger of the Ahrens and Ott Manufacturing Company, the Standard Manufacturing Company, the Dawes and Myler Manufacturing Company, and 6 other plants which were consolidated to form the Standard Manufacturing Company, headquartered in Pittsburgh, with Theodor Ahrens (Jr.) as its first president. He held this position, and others, until 1934.

In 1929 the company merged with the
American Radiator Company
to form the
American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporation
.
This sink is EXTREMELY heavy being made out of Cast iron. I estimate it at over 300lbs which is why I strongly recommend local pickup.
