! I’m offering a rare design on an antique LIDDED, HANDLED TEAPOT made by WT COPELAND of ENGLAND. North Staffordshire. Circa 1850-1867. This shape is often seen in a blue willow pattern. Hexagonal shape decorated in an painted organic floral design cobalt blue with gold gilt accents. A reclining lion or “foo” dog forms the top handle finial, attached, intact and secure. The neck is surrounded with a quote of Robert Burns in distinctive script - WE’LL TAK’ A CUP O’ KINDNESS YET FOR DAYS O AULD LANG SYNE. Hand decorated. Internal strainer (photo). Measures approximately 6” height with lid on, 10” across. Clean. I note a chip sliver on underside of base foot (last photo), otherwise, VERY GOOD, preowned, used antique condition. No other chips, cracks, breaks, hairlines or restorations noted. Handle attached, secure, intact. Spout intact. I note some rub wear of the gold gilt along rims (photo). Hallmarked appropriately with raised British registration diamond (difficult to make out the markings) and an impressed COPELAND mark (photo). Fabulous collector find! It’s all about the decoration on this piece. Add to your collection. Please look at photos. Question? Just ask!
